Enrolment Letter from College Principal Nicholas Wickham

Dear Parents/Caregivers

Thank you for your enquiry regarding enrolment at St Paul’s Catholic College, Booragul. St Paul’s has a proud history of quality Catholic education since 1984. In that time, the College has grown to provide outstanding education for students from Year 7 to Year 12. We have an enviable reputation for quality Teaching and Learning and exemplary Pastoral Care of our students.

Our facilities are state of the art which include a new Library/Learning Hub, Trade Training Centres for Hospitality, Construction, and Business Services, and new flexible learning spaces. We provide a real depth of curriculum to HSC level, including Extension II Mathematics, Physics, Visual Art and Design, Economics, Legal Studies, Music and English up to Extension II. We are also able to enrol students at local TAFE institutes as part of their HSC program. Our Year 7 to 10 students enjoy a comprehensive curriculum and have the ability to represent the College in a variety of sporting and cultural endeavours.

As graduates of Catholic Education our young men and women continue to achieve excellence in all the fields of endeavour that they explore. From the fields of Medicine, Engineering, Education, Commerce and representing at the Olympics, ex-students from St Paul’s go on to make a real difference in their world. They carry with them a deep understanding of the world and their role in making it a better place. They go on to live out our motto “To live is Christ”.

As you consider St Paul’s as your school of choice, we invite you to make a time to see our facilities and to speak with the people who guide our young men and women. Please contact the College office who will be more than happy to facilitate a tour and informal interview.

Details of the enrolment process are available on our website.

Once again, thank you for considering St Paul’s Catholic College for your child’s secondary education.

Yours sincerely

Mr Nicholas Wickham
Principal

Enrolment Information

We primarily enrol a Year 6 intake from our six feeder primary schools:

However, we also enrol students from the local Government Primary Schools.

We enrol based on available places and suitable applicants, apart from the Year 6 to Year 7 intake. We have in place an extensive orientation phase at both the Year 6 to Year 7 and Year 10 to Year 11 transition, which allows for positive progression in the school.

Documents for enrolment application are listed here. The completed enrolment form should be returned with the required documents as listed. Alternatively contact us by phone, fax or email.

Enrolment Process and Policy

In recent years the Catholic Diocese has received unprecedented demand for school entry across our Diocesan schools. This demand, combined with the desire to offer families a pathway for their children from Kindergarten through to Year 12, has led to the Diocese revising and adjusting the Enrolment Policy.

The policy sets out the prioritisation for enrolment in schools and applies to all students seeking enrolment at a Catholic School in the Diocese of Maitland-Newcastle (CDMN).

For further information on the enrolment prioritisation criteria please visit the CSO website at https://www.mn.catholic.edu.au/enrolment/enrolment-policy/.

A commitment to Catholic education when considering priority of enrolment for secondary education means enrolment at a CDMN primary school from Kindergarten or at least the commencement of Year 4 for priority enrolment for secondary schools.
