Leaders of Wellbeing and Engagement

Leaders of Wellbeing and Engagement play a significant role in the wellbeing and pastoral care of students in their year group. At the forefront of their daily work is the social, emotional and spiritual wellbeing and development of their students. They are responsible for developing an intrinsic connection with students and families within their particular year, and help coordinate spiritual, community and leadership activities and opportunities for their students. Individual attention and support is given to students, when the need arises, and students and families are encouraged to seek assistance, guidance and support from their respective Leader of Wellbeing and Engagement. Leaders of Wellbeing and Engagement will oversee the overall general progress of students in their year group and will also be the first point of contact for students and families if extra support is required. Support may include being referred to the supplementary support services on offer at the College, such as the college counsellors, pastoral care worker, learning support assistance and/or EALD support. Leaders of Wellbeing and Engagement will also have a significant role to play in assisting students with community engagement and behaviour management. Both a strength based and restorative approach will be taken with students so that strong relationships are maintained and secured. Leaders of Wellbeing and Engagement will work closely with the Leaders of Learning, the Assistant Principals and Principal to ensure the learning environment is safe for all students at the College.
